There has been a Post office and stores on this site for over 150 years which the founder of our company Robert Worthington bought after he took early retirement from Leyland Motors in 1948. Robert Worthington's son Arthur then joined the family business after leaving the army and started to sell and repair cars. A taxi service was started to transport airmen from the local RAF base and a fleet of 14 taxis were operated at that time. When the airbase was closed in 1958 a natural progression was to move into coach hire and school transport was started with the coach being used on private hire.
The company to this day is run by Arthurs wife Lilian, son Paul and daughter Marie.
